Supreme Court of Canada to Hear Unilever’s Case Against Quebec on Margarine Colour

May 6, 2004 (Toronto) – Unilever Canada announced today that the Supreme Court of Canada has decided to hear the company’s case against Quebec regarding that province’s margarine colour regulation.

Unilever Canada will argue that the regulation, which requires margarine to be a different colour than butter, is illegal under Canadian law.

It is expected that the Supreme Court of Canada will hear the case in 2005.
